Wine Marble

How can I get rid of water stains on marble tiles?
We have used marble tile kitchen countertop / after vessel and wine bottles sitting on it for some time that we have now faded spots and rings. The points are in the end and no amount of polishing, etc. get rid of they. Is there any way to treat them? Should we put a sealer on the tile?
I have a marble floor (which had been closed, too) in a bath, but has not been a problem. Twice I had to reach professionals repolish sand and water spots. If I had known this plant would be so sensitive, I never would have. Since then I have said that the granite would have been the thing to use, and marble should be reserved for the walls. This is what the professionals told me about removing water stains on marble: make a paste of a substance slightly rough, like baking soda, and lightly go over the place of water. Note care, you do not want to make things worse. Then use a varnish on it (in my case Pledge furniture polish, maybe you have something a bit better for a counter). That's all. It should decrease the place, but probably not completely removed. She also said that the promise of my regular marble floor to prevent future water spots. Hope this helps.
