TX (19751977)
Holden Gemini The original model, the TX series, was introduced in March 1975. It was available as a four-door sedan in S and SL levels specification, and as a two-door coupe, SL. The Gemini TX Holden factory was built at Acacia Ridge, Queensland and contained a high percentage of Australian content.
All TX models to share the same 1.6-liter SOHC Isuzu (encrypted with the G161Z). The engine was powered by chain and head design incorporating a cross-flow alloy. A two-barrel "Nikki" Stromberg carburetor was used on the models of Australia. The TX early models used a free flow cast iron exhaust manifold, two outlets in a "Y" pipe is used (this point is commonly switches used by the later models). Since November 1976 this was changed to a single exhaust outlet header to comply with EPA regulations.
Wheel size was 13 "x 4.5" rear brakes duo-servo units, similar in design to those used in the six-cylinder Torana. TC (19771978)
The TC Gemini sold between March 1977 and April 1978. TD (19781979)
The TD series was introduced in April 1978, the most important change with respect to TC being the introduction of "radial Tuned Suspension (RTS) and option a five-speed manual transmission. RB (19851986)
In May of 1985 Gemini RB Series was released. Based on front wheel drive GM A platform, did not sell as well as previous rear-wheel drive Geminis, with a production of only 16 263 units. The Gemini RB only offered in the form of four-door sedan, with SL / X and SL / E trim levels and a SL-only fleet.
