The Xc90: Volvo’s Special Purpose Vehicle

The Volvo XC90 from its inception in the market has been an award winner and has received much praise. Volvo’s quest for the crossover vehicle market supremacy is highlighted by the rise in popularity of the Volvo XC90. The crossover vehicle carrying with it the reputation of the company’s drive towards providing safe cars for the public has been improved and made even safer and made to perform even better. The sport utility vehicle frame on a car’s body with the integrated safety systems and a wide array of technologically advanced features make this vehicle a top contender in its class which includes some heavy competition. This, of course, makes the feat quite remarkable.

The vehicle’s power comes from a 4.4-liter, double overhead cam V8 engine which is a first for a Volvo known for using inline engines with five or six cylinders. The engine is configured to have variable valve timing to maximize the engines capability to produce up to 311 units of horsepower. The V8 engine built by motorcycle giant Yamaha is the only engine of its kind to give a vehicle a designation of ULEVII or Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle. This feat is another testament to the company’s dedication not only for safer but also cleaner cars. The design of the engine makes this possible and the perfectly engineered parts from the Volvo distributor cap down to the spark plugs and to the exhaust manifold works in harmony to reduce the emission of the vehicle.

The car is an all wheel drive thus giving the Volvo XC90 better traction and stability even during nasty weather. All the wheels of the vehicle get their power from the engine via the Volvo Geartronic 6-speed automatic transmission equipped with the Adaptive Shift Logic and Winter Mode which can give the car smooth gear shifting. Fuel efficiency of the vehicle is respectable which is rated at 15 miles per gallon on city driving or 21 miles on the highway. Its sports utility vehicle trait is apparent in its towing capacity which is rated at 5,000 pounds which is quite the same with the Honda Ridgeline pickup.

The interior of the Volvo XC90 is not only packed with safety features like airbags and pre-tensioned seat belts but is also a treat to the eye and other senses as well. The design defines luxury from the wood and metal accents which complements the plush black leather which adorns the interior. The integrated controls, handles and the seats are designed to bring comfort and please the eye. The car is roomy enough to seat seven passengers with adequate legroom and headspace. All the seats except the driver’s can be folded down to accommodate luggage if the rear storage space is not enough.

With all the rich features and the high performance capability of the vehicle coupled with the company’s mark of high safety standards makes the Volvo XC90 a serious contender in its class.

Motorcycles Games

What’s that game that is sort of like the movie “Tron” with the motorcycles?

This is really hard to explain, but I saw it recently on a Episode of Family guy. I remember playing this game where there are two motorcycles and there is a wall that follows the motorcycle from behind and you try to cut the opponent off by making them run into that wall trailing from behind. This is probably the dumbest question ever, I just wanted to know lol

Try GLTron. Its a freeware game.

Of you want it more officially, get Tron 2.0 from Monolith games.

Or for more links to freeware clones of this game go to the last Wikipedia link.

Does anyone know of the company that issues a new motorcycle title for you for about $75?

I recently purchased a motorcycle(1982 Honda 450 Nighthawk) without a title, but I got a bill of sale. Thank you in advance.

Go to the Highway Patrol( They are the agency responsible for keeping track of stolen bikes) with bill of sale and VIN numbers. They will run a search to see if the title is clear. If it comes back clear they will give you a document to take to DMV and you will be issued a new title. There is no need to involve a third party.

Bikers and Motorcycles: Relieve All Your Itches With Just One Bike

If you own a motorcycle, it seems almost an axiom that dissatisfaction with that bike is inevitably going to boomerang back if you think you have finally found the perfect one. See my article entitled “Bikers and Motorcycles: Never Satisfied and Always Looking” on this topic at:

http://www.born2razehell.com/Out of My Experience/Out of My Experience.html

Buying the ideal bike – or the bike for you – is a lot like going to a gym and doing body-building work. For example, if you want to build up your shoulders, you can pick up a good weight-lifting book and find numerous exercises that you can do for that purpose. A color-coded muscle building book will highlight exactly what muscles are being affected when you start heaving cold steel into the atmosphere. Some of those exercises will pin-point the exact muscle you want to train and ONLY that muscle. Other exercises will target THAT muscle, but they will also secondarily work up to several other areas as well, such as the back and arms and chest. Those exercises are called compound exercises. THOSE are the exercises one wants to do if he doesn’t want to spend all day in a gym and go for the world title. Do compound exercises, and you will make sure you hit all the muscle groups well with fewer exercises.

Now, motorcycles are just like this. There are bikes out there just for cruising, and just for touring, and just for going like a demon. And I mean that is about all you would want to do with them. Oh, you can try – and even accomplish – other things if you really want to, but they were designed for singular purposes primarily. Then there are other bikes out there that will soothe several major itches you want to scratch, but they will also do more than just titillate some of those other purposes you hanker as well. Unless you want to just do one thing with your motorcycle and nothing else – such as haul it to Bike Night and stand around and watch everybody go ga-ga – then you want to buy one of those bikes that slakes as many of your thirsts as it can. For example, get one that will dart around town handily and that you ENJOY riding all the time. But make sure it also can tour to your satisfaction, accessorize to your content, carry pillion and provisions comfortably, gurgle a sound from the pipes that is not embarrassing, provide weather protection, and get lots of looks too, depending on how you have set it up. No bike can hit all of these objectives equally, but a few can nail several goals head on and do enough of some of the others to make you content for a pretty long time.

That is the bike I look for. I can’t buy every piece of weight-lifting equipment in the gym for every muscle I want to make bulge when I flex, but I can buy a pretty good universal gym that will essentially accomplish the same things.

Not knowing what I know now, I thought I had that bike in a 1997 GoldWing one time. Nope. It could tour till the cows came home (even though I felt like I had a saddle block when I got off of it). Forget cruising and trekking around town. Every time I climbed on that thing, it was like hitching up the horses with all those cords and doodads on it. Once I thought it was the 1998 BMW K1200RS. Not this one either. It left everything out of sight and toured like Man Mountain Dean but was not good for much else. Another time I thought it was the 1994 Harley Dyna Wide Glide. Wrong again. Yes, it was the cruiser preeminent, and I took that thing to California and back on an 8,355 mile trip. But I barely could pass an RV going up a mountain, and it left me exposed to weather. When I got home, I was nearly deaf. I was pretty certain I had the bike in my 2004 Honda Shadow Sabre. Another strike out. You see people traveling hill and dale with these things, but it is not a two-up tourer and just other things that I could not put my finger on. It is just something that you know. Each of these jiggled a certain nerve ending really good, but they couldn’t make the rest of my desires convulse with gratification. I still believe there is something out there that will do all I want because I can only buy one bike. So far, the bike that has done the best job for me on all of these points is my 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad. For you, it may be something else. Whichever one stops the voices, that is it.
