Manufacturing QUINN
principal activities are manufacturing division manufacture and supply of cement and concrete including tiles, flooring prestressed Quinn-lite blocks, polystyrene insulation products, quarry and asphalt products in general. QUINN Therm, at Scotchtown, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan was commissioned in October 2004 to produce and distribute products of rigid polyurethane insulation for the market in Ireland and the UK. Quinn Therm produces board rigid foam insulation wall cavity. QUINN tarmac was established in 1994 to produce a range of products from asphalt. QUINN Cement has been in production since 1989 Derrylin in place using local raw materials facility in the quarry. Given the increasing demand generated by the construction sector in recent years, a second plant was commissioned in 2000 in the northern part of the Republic of Ireland, outside the small town of Ballyconnell and near the border with Northern Ireland.
Quinn Plastics is a supplier of transparent plastic sheet (formerly Barlo Plastics). Barlo Plastics was established in 1998 by the merger of four producers plastic sheets and extended for another four sheet extrusion business in 1999 and 2000. In 2004 it was acquired Quinn Barlo Plastics Group and changed its name to Quinn Plastics. Headquartered in Derrylin, County Fermanagh, the company has operating facilities in France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Slovakia, the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic. Quinn Plastics produces 90,000 tonnes per year and employs over 700 people. In 2005, the company purchased a startup business, known as Polyex in the United Kingdom, which is now the basis of their place of production Alfreton. Quinn Plastics provide products for different applications in building and construction, interior design and safety.
In May 2004 the Quinn Group acquired Barlo Group PLC. This led to the announcement of the formation of Quinn Plastics on 1 January 2005. The company's principal business is the production of domestic and industrial products. In 2005, the company purchased a startup business Polyex known as the United Kingdom, which is now the basis of their place of production Alfreton.
QUINN chemicals is building a plant for the manufacture of methacrylate methacrylate (MMA) in Leuna in eastern Germany. However, construction has been put on ice in January 2009 due to "heavy cost overruns" and " deteriorating market conditions ". Some jobs are done on the site which intensified towards its conclusion, when global market conditions improve. A full capacity, the new plant will produce approximately 100,000 tons of MMA a year for the world market. The plant will produce many different products, including products glass, plumbing, lighting, screen, and housewares.
QUINN Packaging (Marketed as Barlo Packaging to 2004) has served the industry rigid food packaging since 1980 from its plant in Newbridge, where the dairy market of yellow fat spreads initially came .. Quinn Packaging has a factory in Ballyconnell, built in 2006, which produces food trays, film and thin gauge sheet for food packaging industry.
As a major user of electricity in its manufacturing base, QUINN Power built a five-megawatt wind farm in 1995 at the Slieve Rushen Mountain, which is located behind central core manufacturing Derrylin Group. This was supplemented in 2004 with the addition of a 13.5 megawatt wind farm in Snugborough, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan. The power generated is fed into the national grid. The Group is in the planning stages of new developments in this field. These are set to include 300 million, 450 megawatt gas turbine combined cycle in County Louth, which has been approved and fast-track by An Bord Pleanála under the Strategic Plan Infrastructure says Bill. Quinn Glass is one of only a handful of plants worldwide where bottles can be manufactured and filled on a single site, which has one of the largest automated warehouses in Europe, capable of handling 282,000 pallets of filled glass containers and empty.
In 2005, Quinn expanded glass, and built a second plant at Elton, Cheshire creating over 550 new jobs. The glass container plant in Elton is one of the most sophisticated in the world, producing 20 percent of the needs of glass containers in the UK. The site offers a large glass container, filling and distribution service for the beverage industry. The plant facilities include a beverage filling hall, storage, two glass melting furnaces and 13 production lines. The capacity of the second floor is currently 1200 million units, with production capacity of both plants is estimated that 2.4 million units in 2008. The plant has five bottling lines capable of a total of 400 bottles of wine, or 1,000 bottles of beer a minute. View manufacturing and bottling on the same site can reduce costs and keep prices competitive. Al providing packaging services, there is potential for glass makers to win more business in a plant overflow in times of high demand, and as an operation contract packaging the greatest benefits of the bottling lines are likely to be had. However, the plant was built without proper planning permission, and on April 8, 2009, the Supreme Court ruled that the plant must be demolished. QUINN radiators is one of the Europe's leading producers of domestic and specification radiators with production facilities in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Belgium. The production plant in Leigh in the UK occurs while the 'Roundtop' large production plant Grobbendonk, Belgium, produces the 'compact' range. The interest of the division in the specification radiator market is represented through the brand designed with its headquarters in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, Ireland. In May 2004, Quinn Group acquired Barlo Group, this led to the announcement of the formation of Quinn Radiators January 1, 2005. In early 2007, a new facility radiator went into production in Newport, South Wales. This major investment will create the most modern plant and efficient radiator in the world, creating almost 500 jobs. QUINN Direct Insurance Limited is an Irish company based in general insurance, which was established in 1996 by the Quinn Group. The company headquarters is based in Dublin Road, County Cavan, and employs over 1700 staff in offices in Cavan, Enniskillen, Dublin, Manchester and London. Quinn Direct Private property is the only Indian insurance company operating in the island (many of the players in the insurance market in both Northern Ireland and Ireland are subdivisions of the majors). The company's main business lies in providing a range of general insurance products including car insurance, van insurance, insurance motorcycle, home insurance, liability insurance and commercial property. Quinn Direct currently has more than 700,000 customers and is the second largest insurance market Irish insurance.
After its creation in 1996, the company expanded and opened an office in Oonnoll Street, Dublin in 1997. In addition, in March 2003, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, Ian Pearson, announced the opening of new offices in Enniskillen. QUINN Life, released in January 2000, its headquarters is based in Dublin Road, County Cavan. Quinn Life offers financial services to customers in Ireland, and the company's business includes investments, savings, pensions and retirement plans. QUINN offers pensions and life savings under the Highway brand .. In February 2007, entered the medical QUINN Irish health insurance market with the completion of its acquisition of the BUPA Ireland Limited. The new company will be known as Queen of Health. Operation QUINN-healthcare newly formed now employs over 300 people and has a membership of 445.000.
