Importation of Foreign Used Motorcycles in India?
Is there a market for the importation of foreign used motorcycles to India – I am thinking more of the Honda CBR’s, Suzuki GSX’s, Etc, etc.
If so what are the import rules to bring them in, rules on opening a business in India and availability of local expertise i.e mechanics etc.
Over 90% of motorcycles sold in India are less than 250cc. They need to be basic, simple to work on and capable of running on very poor quality fuel – not applicable to your average superbike…!
Indian mechanics are incredible to watch: they can strip, repair and rebuild a bike whilst working with minimal tools, quite often just at the side of the road. Their ingenuity and skill at keeping bikes going with limited equipment and facilities is fascinating.
If someone wants a larger capacity bike, they can import from Japan at far cheaper prices than you can sell them from the west.

i want to start motocross and i need help!?
im 15 and i wanna enter motocross i wanted to ever since i was a kid but i cant get a job and i can help my parents freind for maybe 100 a week and i want the 2011 yamaha yz125 and its 6090 and the gear is almost another 1000 i was wondering if you knew of any place that hires 15 year olds and if i get a bank accunt if i can take out a loan if my parents cosign or if id have to have them take it and whats the cheapest monthley payment and i live in northeastern pa thanks!!
I know this is what you really want but once you get a bike it costs a lot of money to maintain one. Then you have the cost of fuel to run the bike and if you are talking racing then entry fees also cost. There are so many items that you also need to race that add to that cost like tools to work on your bike and replacement spark plugs. Even if you then raced the bike stock standard it can be a frustration in itself as you wonder why those other 15 year olds seem to do it so easy. The fact is that they have had their suspension done to suit their weight and bought a dozen aftermarket bits and pieces that make their bike smoother and faster.
You should also lower your ideas a bit and aim first to get a good used bike to learn on and see if you can then afford those extras to race. Unfortunately it is a hard lesson in life that you cannot always do or have what you want as money is needed and way too hard to get.
