Ridged Custom
I have a Mauser rifle and can not find caliber. No 8mm or 7.62 or 30.06. Julius Hessmer have customized barrel?
My grandfather left his rifle in his path. It has a custom Hessmer July (Hoflieferant Berlin) semi octagon barrel with a crest. It also has the usual "jewling" on bolt action. I do not want pay for an audition as I imagine someone has to know what it is. The local gun shop is also investigating. The only other trademarks are the MOD 98 and Z 234, although not in the real barrel. Thank you! Your kids. No, I do not get any ammunition and the rifle is still currently in the shop. I would try to remove the barrel or action, but as it was my grandfather and is an old definition did not want to do anything myself. The owner of the store tend to think it is a 9x, but it will let me know. Also the scope is German and apparently very nice. I wonder what the weapon is worth! Any ideas? We simply learn that is larger than the 8mm Mauser round reg.
Hi I would like to remove the action of the people and see if there is some indication that the correct cartridge for the weapon. If not, then a distribution chamber must be done to make the determination. Most good dealers can do this. Ask the dealer if you know of a book by Frank C. Barnes. Your answer should be, "Yes, I know Cartridge World." If not, then you may be unable to tell what this outbreak. Many European cartridges that this could have been created for. A quick slugging drilling at least tell the caliber. The barrel you describe is a custom made barrel, so that the cartridge can be anything that has the head 7×57. This family includes 7×57, 8×57, 9×57, 30/06, 308, and a couple of hundred other cartridges. Any ammunition of the gun? That would save a lot of problems.
