Tourqe anyone know the specifications and the sequence in the Twin Cam oil pump alignment screws …. engine camshaft and the loss of my notes on the damn aligment for the oil pump also has anyone actually expierence pressure loss of not using screws aligment first
I know the specs. I have not been in my engine yet, but I have the manual in front of me ('06 Dyna). I would use alignment tools me, the picture shows them as conical. The photos show the model numbers next to the holes. I suppose you remember the methods of delivering the engine. Book Excerpt: a. Loosely alignment tool insertion holes # 1 and # 2. B. Top two screws in holes # 3 and # 4. C. While turning the engine, allowing the pump to find its natural center, alternatively, alignment tools tighten until snug. d. Tighten the alignment tools to 40-45 inlbs in sequence shown (Not shown, should be 1-2). e.Alternately tighten the screws in holes # 3 and # 4 inlbs 40-45. f. Remove alignment tool into the hole 1 and replace the screw. Tighten the screw to 40 -45 inlbs. Repeat this step for the alignment tool in hole # 2. g. Final tighten the four scews inlbs 90 -120 in the sequence shown. Numbers sharing with the holes also indicate the oil pump torque sequence. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Hope that helps.
