Honda Motorcycle Wiring Diagrams
Help with rewiring a motorcycle?
My Husband and I have an old 1977 Honda GL1000 Goldwing and the person we bought it off of, had wires going everywhere and had them spliced here and there. Well eventually one wire shorted out, and caught fire. We did get another wiring harness, but we are having problems with trying to figure out where all the wires go, there are so many of them with the same colors going to different places. We have the diagram, and do follow the wires, but it gets us nowhere. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
I hate to say it but you might want to start by taking out the wiring that doesn’t belong to the bike, then slowly over time add the accessories back on the bike, the problem with a lot of older wings is most owners think they can add what ever they want AND do it themselves….wire nuts, speaker wire for power supplies….sound like you have just gotten frustrated, take your time and either buy a Honda manual or head to ebay and buy a service manual on CD alot cheaper and will help because the wiring diagrams are in multiple pages, also the factory manual is color coded meaning its in color alot easier then the aftermarket manuals (clymer, Haynes) which I DO NOT recommend.
