having problems with the motor hesitating when trying to get on it?
ok soo…. i rebuilt a fresh 350 tbi, runs good, idles great everythings perfect, my problem is when i drive it it kinda has alittle hesitation from a stoping point (example) old truck, stomp on it! tires light up!!!, new motor…. you get on it alittle it goes,,, but not like it should. so hopefully some or you gear heads can give me some pointers.
LOL lots of interesting answers here… Of course you cant adjust carb… That one is great. If it is in a pickup the fuel pick-up is in the middle of the tank. you have to have better than half a tank when you want to RUN these trucks, E.G. 454 ss is especially bad, even from factory. I have had 4 of the late 80s early 90s and they all pose this problem when you add power. Timing and fuel delivery are all computer controlled by the ecm. no manual fix to these things. may try a power chip from ebay (installs in the ecm) to advance timing. Check to make sure you have even fuel flow from the two injectors over the throttle body. New motors are especially tight. I had one built that wasn’t near potential until after several thousand miles.
